Location - Software is located in Southwestern, Ontario and Oxford County. Been around for 35 years coming up on 35 years from here is a great base in the egg sector with Oxford County then we can access a global market in AG. We ship all over the world right from the former Soviet Union down into Australia, New Zealand and all over the United States and all of Canada of course.

History - Self-reform farm machinery employs about 250 people across our three manufacturing facilities in Olmska, Russia; Osceola, Iowa in the United States and here in Ontario, Canada where we're headquartered. Salford was started by a dutch immigrant named Jake Rosendale and his wife and they came over from the Netherlands about 40 years ago. Originally Jake was asked to make cultivators bigger, make plows stronger and these are core principles that we've followed through into the modern software culture.

Work Environment - A big believer in working with an immigrant workforce because the strong work ethics. They left their home for a reason and to create a new life for themselves. At Salford we have all the traditional jobs, we have welders and labourers, but because this is our head office we have the full engineering staff, our designers, engineers, we have all our manufacturing, our main manufacturing support teams here, all our marketing is done out of here, advertising is done out of this office, this is our call center and our customer support center. For the globe we need someone that handles Portuguese, Spanish, Russian, French, not only taking phone calls, but also translating material so that we can provide marketing and technical literature for our customers. Recently Salford was looking to increase our international tech support and creating marketing and technical material in Russian language. We were kind of stumped for a few months and we turned to the Oxford Community Employment Services Agency. We'd heard of their program to bring international workers to this part of Ontario, so within actually days of contacting Community Employment Services we were put in touch with the candidate who fit the needs that Salford was looking for through Community Employment Services.

Housing - And the subsidies we've been able to hire more people and moving into Oxford County much lower housing costs you can buy a larger house. Another big one is auto insurance, almost 30 percent taken off your auto insurance when i moved here. My savings on my auto insurance paid for my house insurance any kind of services that that you're after are within a short drive of Oxford County. My wife and her friends they usually go to London, Brantford, Kitchener, Waterloo, where they want to see the bigger stores, the bigger malls, but they're all within three quarters an hour. Those centres and we're close to the the heart of the American Midwest and you moved to Oxford County and you just notice the peace and it kind of just settles in with you. You're not fighting traffic, you're not fighting to get into a store, you're not fighting line up to get into gas, it's just a different lifestyle.
